Merdeka Eve Fun RUn

Read in BM

My family and I signed up for a 5km Merdeka Eve fun run. When we went to collect our T-shirts, we found out that there was a new 3km option. In the end, we decided to go for 3km instead since we had our two kids with us, aged 8 and 5.

Our plan was just to walk and enjoy ourselves. But our eldest had other plans. He started running like crazy! Hahaha. Of course, I had to chase after him. It was at night, after all, and I was worried he might get lost.

The problem was, I wasn't good at running, and I didn't even stretch beforehand (because I thought we were just going to walk). My legs started hurting from all the running. I felt so awkward running too. It had been years since I last ran!

My son said he wanted to come in first place. I didn't want to stop him, right? I wanted to encourage him, but I was the one suffering. Haha. And today, my legs hurt even more.

Papa didn't run with us because our second child didn't want to run. She said she was tired and wanted to be carried. So, papa carried her for about 2km. Poor papa.

Well, yes, poor papa. But I think mama deserves more sympathy for having to run. And on top of that, I'm chubby.

I guess I need to start practising and jogging a little at a time, so I can jog with the kids next time.
